Grande Padre is a long-term project exploring the psychological and societal scars left by Albania’s authoritarian regime under Enver Hoxha. Through photography and text, De Maffei delves into the remnants of this history, examining the shifts in power, identity, and freedom faced by Albania. By capturing symbolic architectures, gestures, and landscapes, Grande Padre offers a poignant reflection on the complex dynamics between individuals, society, and power.
