SÅM Artist Residency

Visual Exploration in Lessinia 2018

SÅM - Esplorazione Visiva della Lessinia is a residency program dedicated to visual exploration within the landscape of Lessinia, curated by Ana Blagojevic, Chiara Bandino, and Francesco Biasi. The program is supported by Film Festival della Lessinia. The residency offers artists a unique opportunity to engage deeply with the region’s culture, geography, and communities. The inaugural edition celebrated the unique geography and cultural heritage of the region and was led by guest curator Steve Bisson. The residency invited artists to delve into Lessinia’s landscapes, generating a body of work that highlights the area's visual and ecological significance. The resulting exhibition, A Possible Introduction, underscored the value of bringing contemporary art into dialogue with regional culture, offering fresh perspectives on the local environment and community.
