Chimica del Paesaggio by Davide Galandini explores the human-environment relationship, reflecting on the impact of human actions through a visual and sensory narrative. The work highlights environmental urgency in a landscape with which the artist has developed empathy. Galandini challenges photography's ability to move beyond documentation, using collage and varied focal lengths to emphasize proximity to environmental crises. Set Montericco #1 transcends two-dimensional representation, extending into physical space, symbolizing that no place is immune to human impact.
In the main gallery, ephemeral installations reveal Galandini's personal connection to the environments he works in. These works evolved from documentary photography into installations. The exhibition continues with Un po’ di ventiduemilasettecentoquarantaquattro, a sealed box of chaotic images symbolizing the obsolescence of documentation.
2mq/s in the project room addresses the irreversible loss of natural land in Italy. The exhibition culminates in Rumore Bianco, a sound and visual installation reflecting the destruction of a tree for minimal agricultural gain, serving as a metaphor for environmental degradation.
The show is curated by Francesco Biasi.
