How to Recycle in Storytelling

A workshop with Ania Nalecka e Rafal Milach

The How to Recycle in Storytelling workshop focuses on recycling, editing, and sequencing to create new narratives. Led by book designer Ania Nalecka and visual artist Rafal Milach, participants will use photography, literature, and film archives from the Lessinia region to craft stories. The workshop will include theoretical and practical sessions where participants will produce new visuals and develop a zine as the final outcome. The workshop is organised by SÅM in collaboration with Lessinia Film Festival and Fonderia 20.9.

Ania Nalecka is a renowned book designer and guest lecturer at various international workshops and institutions.

Rafal Milach

Rafal Milach is a visual artist and photographer member of Magnum, co-founder of Sputnik Photos, known for his acclaimed photobooks and exhibitions on transition issues in the CEE region.

Recycling Visual Material

Participants will explore how to recycle visual materials, including photos, film, and literature, to create new narratives.

Editing and Sequencing

Learn editing and sequencing techniques to restructure visual content into cohesive stories.

Producing New Visuals

Create new visuals using photography, collage, and other techniques to complement recycled content.

Zine Production

Participants will produce a zine showcasing the stories created during the workshop.
